Mechanical Engineering Department Manager (MEP) - Baltimore, MD
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as an engineering leader and technical expert with the ability to answer questions and resolve issues brought forth by the engineering staff.
- Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff to use and abide by.
- Propose and oversee budgets and timelines for engineering projects.
- Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by engineering staff.
- Communicate and collaborate with other managers, suppliers, and contractors.
- Prepare and deliver various engineering-related presentations, both internally and externally.
- Perform department management activities including recruitment, hiring, coaching, and leadership.
Requirements
- 10 plus years’ experience in mechanical design.
- Team supervisory experience.
- Bachelor’s degree mechanical engineering.
- PE license required.
- Strong technical writer.
- Strong knowledge of building codes.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment with the ability to work individually or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of Sustainable certification programs.
- Strong software skills including Revit.

Pay
Bala Consulting Engineers will not pay a fee to any Agency that does not have such agreement in place, or for positions for which candidates have not been specifically requested.
Schedule
Full-time roles work in office and qualify for one day remote work.
