About the role
Join us as a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Tooling Acquisition at Lockheed Martin. This role involves designing, developing, and testing new tooling solutions to support aerospace manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of advanced tooling systems for aerospace components
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure tooling solutions meet project requirements and quality standards
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses to optimize tooling designs
- Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation and drawings
- Perform root cause analysis on tooling failures and implement corrective actions
- Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements in tooling and manufacturing
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in tooling engineering
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and ANSYS
- Experience with material science and understanding of metalworking processes
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of ISO and ASME standards
- Experience with CNC machines and machining processes
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
