Mechanical Engineer (Springfield, IL)

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer at REEL USA Corp. will work closely with the Design Office in Canada to design, integrate, and implement major tailor-made mechanical equipment to the strictest specifications of our customers. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this role involves mechanical design of equipment, 3D modeling, calculations and sizing of structures and mechanisms, component selection, and development of technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design of equipment (mechanisms, structures, ergonomics, machine safety)
• 3D modeling
• Calculations and sizing of structures and mechanisms
• Selection of commercial components with specifications / technical specifications
• Development of technical documents

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in the design of structures or mechanically welded assemblies
• Professional Engineer (PE) License
• Knowledge of ASME standards for design and fabrication
• Good knowledge of Autocad and Inventor software (an asset)
• Knowledge of STAAD, ANSYS, MATHCAD, S-FRAME software (an asset)
• Motivated, dynamic, creative, and team player
