Essential Functions

  • Contribute to project planning by actively participating in scope definition and fee development, including attendance at pre-proposal meetings.
  • Develop mechanical design solutions informed by a strong understanding of industry standards and constructability best practices.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of applicable codes and standards to ensure compliance and quality in all design work.
  • Utilize industry-standard software such as Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, BIM/Revit, and other relevant tools.
  • Perform field investigations, energy audits, life cycle cost analyses, energy modeling, and cost estimation.
  • Provide construction-phase support, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and managing design modifications.
  • Lead, mentor, and support the development of junior staff.

Education and Experience

  • Required: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Required: Professional Engineer (PE) license with a minimum of 15 years of experience in the design of building-related mechanical systems.

Preferred: LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) or equivalent sustainability certification. Certification in commissioning or demonstrated experience in building system commissioning.
