Mechanical Engineer R&D Co-op

About the role

This is a 12-month co-op position beginning in January or May of 2027.

Responsibilities

• Design and test mechanical components and parts
• Design and development of mechanical fixtures for hardware testing
• Generate hardware test plans and protocols
• Analyze test results and compose test reports
• Troubleshoot problems during testing, assume ownership of specific test methods and sub-modules
• Routinely provide readouts to the larger hardware team about the progress of their work

Requirements

• Enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering degree program
• Completion of at least second year of a Bachelor’s degree
• Classwork in statics, dynamics, physics, and statistics
• Attention to detail, positive attitude, good work ethic
• Ability to independently troubleshoot
• Teamwork experience through coursework, lab work, and/or internship

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CAD software, Matlab, Python
• Experience with finite element analysis
• Medical device classwork
