RemoteRemoteEngineering$80–$150/hrPart-time
• $80–$150 per hour equivalent, paid per accepted task• 100% remote• Part-time• About 15 hours a week, you choose when Work on the cutting edge of AI engineering, on your own schedule, and get paid for the mechanical engineering expertise you already have. The AI systems everyone is talking about are trained and tested by real experts, including mechanical engineers. The teams building them need professionals who can create demanding engineering scenarios, judge whether an AI solution is sound, write the reference solution a mechanical engineer would give, and explain exactly where the reasoning or results fall short. Your judgment becomes part of how the next generation of AI models handles real physical problems. This is that work, done remotely around your current job. What you'll do• Create reproducible engineering simulation tasks by setting up geometry, meshes, materials, loads and solver inputs for structural and thermal analysis• Run command-line analyses and automate model setup, parameter sweeps and postprocessing with Python• Check AI-generated engineering solutions against hand calculations, experimental data and reference cases, looking for bad assumptions and violations of physical constraints• Explain where an AI solution went wrong by writing clear reference solutions and objective checks for issues such as mesh problems, convergence failures and unrealistic results Why this is worth your time• Get paid the equivalent of $80–$150 an hour to build real AI skills, on top of your current job• Work directly with frontier AI simulation tools and see how they are built, tested and improved, experience most mechanical engineers will not have for years• Build a career edge for what comes next: AI is reshaping mechanical engineering, and the mechanical engineers who understand it from the inside will lead that change• Fully remote, fully flexible, no minimum shift, no commute Who this is for• A master's or PhD in mechanical engineering or a closely related field, or a bachelor's degree plus at least 1 to 2 years of relevant professional experience• Strong applied mechanics and mechanical engineering fundamentals, with practical Python experience for engineering automation and simulation• Experience with at least one command-line simulation tool, such as CalculiX, Gmsh, Elmer, FEniCSx or OpenFOAM, and clear written and spoken English• No AI experience needed. You bring the expertise; we bring the training on the tools. Pay and details• $80–$150 per hour equivalent; pay is per accepted task, as an independent contractor• About 15 hours a week, you choose when; fully remote, United States How to apply1.
