About the role

EFI Global, an industry leader in forensic engineering and consulting, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and a strong background in vehicle accident reconstruction. The ideal candidate brings technical expertise, a passion for uncovering the facts behind complex incidents, and a commitment to delivering high-quality client service. VAR (Vehicle Accident Reconstruction) certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts investigations of vehicles, equipment, and accident sites to document the evidence and determine the scope of damage.
  • Investigates and assesses damages due to failures and determines the origin of failure for insurers and litigation support.
  • Researches, evaluates, analyzes and tests the causation of accidents and failures.
  • Collaborates with other engineering disciplines to produce detailed reports outlining the cause of the accident.
  • Serves as an expert witness in court and/or in depositions.
  • Documents and maintains billable hours on a time and expense basis for failure analysis and engineering projects for clients.
  • Collaborates with EFI's national team of forensic experts to leverage experiences and assist on projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Travels as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
  • Six (6) years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education required.

  • Have the ability to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, reaching/working overhead.
  • Be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds.
  • Be able to drive up to 4 hours per day.

Auditory/Visual: Hearing, vision and talking.

Pay

For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting, the range of starting pay for this role is $120,000 - $130,000.
