Mechanical Engineer (NPD)

Job Description At a Glance Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer II to join the Lighting & Controls division in Denver, CO. The Mechanical Engineer II will develop high-quality market differentiated luminaire designs. This individual will be responsible for new product development from concept through production and must be able to design highly configurable product families that are uncompromising in quality and performance yet cost effective and simple to assemble, install, and maintain. Responsibilities What Will You Do? Assist in designing and developing products using tools like CAD and engineering drawingsSupport improvements to existing products and custom solutionsCollaborate with engineering, product management, and cross-functional teamsParticipate in brainstorming and problem-solving sessionsAnalyze design changes and support engineering evaluationsFollow all safety and compliance standardsSupport special projects as assigned to meet business needsAnalyze historical engineering data to identify design trends and opportunitiesCreate technical communication assets (drawings, renderings, portfolios)Work directly with engineers, marketing, and product teams on real deliverables Qualifications Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineeringProficient in Solidworks and mechanical design; proficient in Microsoft office suiteTeam player mentality with excellent communication and organizational skillsHighly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of project management and stage gate methodologiesWorking knowledge of DFMA About Us Legrand is the global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures.
