Who we are looking for

Re:Build Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer, Machine Design Team Lead to join our team in Rochester, NY. This is an outstanding opportunity for a technically skilled professional capable of balancing hands-on engineering excellence with team management in a dynamic manufacturing environment. You'll serve as the day-to-day manager of our mechanical machine design team while driving complex projects from concept through completion. We're looking for a collaborative leader who can foster a growth-oriented team culture while maintaining deep technical expertise in machine design and industrial automation.

    • Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the mechanical machine design team

    • Prepare multi-disciplined project proposals and cost estimates
    • Develop detailed project plans using project management tools

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related engineering discipline
  • 7-10+ years of machine design experience in industrial automation (robotics, servos, custom tooling, etc.)
  • More than 5 years working with SolidWorks
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Preferred: Experience leading and mentoring technical teams, proficiency in SolidWorks FEA and CFD tools, Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or eligibility, experience with ISO9001, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies

Work Environment

Onsite in Rochester, NY with occasional travel (up to 25%) to client sites and project locations

Compensation Range

The base salary range for this position is $94,203.70 - $141,304.60 per year. This range represents the Company’s good faith estimate of the base compensation for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to proven experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for annual incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives, subject to Company plans. The Company offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, and other benefits.

Our multidisciplinary team of 70+ engineers, designers, and programmers, combined with 150,000 square feet of fabrication space and over 70 skilled tradespeople, allows us to provide full turnkey solutions—from initial concept through fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
