Responsibilities
- Develop concepts for new machine functions, enhancements, and upgrades.
- Create technical solutions, detailed designs, and assembly drawings.
- Interface with suppliers to clarify system functionality and technical requirements.
- Support Purchasing in evaluating technical proposals, costs, and supplier capabilities.
- Develop and maintain product concept catalogs and specification workbooks.
- Read, interpret, and apply information from blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical guidance.
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other technical data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements.
- Specify system components or direct product modifications to ensure compliance with engineering design and performance specifications.
- Investigate equipment failures, diagnose root causes, and recommend corrective actions to maintenance teams.
- Perform assigned work independently under minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.
- Design/alteration of moderately complex machines, sections, systems or units.
- Prepare layouts using CAD tools.
- Evaluation of moderately complex designs; make engineering changes.
- Prepare BOM, assembly drawings/schematics using CAD for moderately complex equipment.
- Assist in supporting manufacturing/assembly teams.
- Support field teams with technical assistance as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (4-year) in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or related technical field required.
- A minimum of eight years of experience in manufacturing in an engineering role.
Skills
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks with high-level functionality.
- Demonstrated experience supporting or leading project teams and contributing to project management activities.
- Ability to solve complex engineering problems and escalate only the most critical issues.
- Strong foundational knowledge of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and machine systems.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% as required.
