Job Responsibilities
- Counsels and performs very complex tests using advanced techniques to resolve customer concerns/problems
- Prepares technical reports and provides recommendations based on results
- Applies advanced computer-aided engineering analysis techniques to resolve customer concerns/problems
- Adheres to new product development processes as it relates to concept analysis, business case, product development, pre-production and post launch steps
- Recommends methods of manufacture during the design of new products and design modifications or process changes based on cost/design studies
- Modifies analysis techniques when necessary to solve more complex problems
- Evaluates product failures using advanced engineering techniques
- Compiles and analyzes test results; formulates conclusions and recommends direction to the business
- Presents and discusses problems with project management or business units, manufacturing, quality and supply chain etc.
- Partners with project management or business units, manufacturing, quality and supply chain etc.
- Performs full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget
Job Skills
- Expert knowledge in own area of engineering concepts, practices and procedures and other internal engineering standards and systems
- Comprehensive knowledge of company and competitor’s products and technical abilities of suppliers
- Excellent understanding of company processes and procedures including, but not limited to new product development process
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong written communication skills necessary for technical report writing
- Ability to lead a team
Requirements
- Seven years of professional engineering experience
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- May require travel of a scheduled or urgent nature to review applications, discuss problems, visit suppliers / customers, trade shows, etc.
