Mechanical Engineer Intern (Dynapower) - Summer 2027

About the role

Sensata interns work on a technical project within one of our engineering divisions, receiving direct feedback from peers and managers, engaging with fellow interns, and participating in Lunch and Learn presentations and training courses. The internship program is inclusive to all US sites and provides a concentrated view of engineering life at Sensata. Projects are technical, vary yearly based on business needs, and require a solid understanding of engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and debug prototype samples.
• Work in teams to solve complex technical problems and support high‑volume production lines.
• Create engineering prints and specifications.
• Apply statistical methods to data analysis.
• Interface with customers on key design issues.
• Identify and implement optimal solutions while supporting high‑volume production lines.
• Perform design verification on original or derivative ideas using diagnostic and experimental methods.
• Determine design approaches and parameters.
• Evaluate equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a B.S., M.Eng., or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
• U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident status.
• Eligibility to obtain authorization under ITAR and/or EAR (non‑U.S. persons may not be eligible).
• Ability to apply core engineering concepts to solve complex, unfamiliar, and novel problems.
• Clear and concise communication of complex information to peers, managers, and customers.
• Initiative, creativity, and perseverance in overcoming obstacles.
• Team‑oriented mindset with leadership potential.

Pay

• Sophomore (Graduating 2030): $25.00 per hour
• Junior (Graduating 2029): $27.00 per hour
• Senior (Graduating 2028): $29.00 per hour
• Graduate students: $32.00 per hour
