Mechanical Engineer III

About the Role

Design and develop complex Solidworks 3D CAD models for mechanical systems used in a regulated industry. Create mechanical drawings and design controls documentation to support engineering requirements and compliance needs. Help develop medical device automation from concept through design, integration, and verification, including mechanisms, actuators, guarding, structures, and ongoing continuing engineering activities. Design and analyze mechanical parts and manage complex product assemblies in Solidworks. Collaborate closely with electrical engineers to develop tightly-integrated, compact electromechanical solutions and support engineering analysis and design validation testing phases.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex Solidworks 3D CAD models for mechanical systems in a regulated industry
• Create mechanical drawings and design controls documentation for engineering requirements and compliance
• Develop medical device automation from concept through design, integration, and verification (mechanisms, actuators, guarding, structures, continuing engineering)
• Design and analyze mechanical parts and manage complex product assemblies in Solidworks
• Collaborate with electrical engineers on tightly-integrated, compact electromechanical solutions
• Support engineering analysis and design validation testing phases

Requirements

• BS or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a mechanical engineer (7+ years preferred)
• Complex Solidworks 3D CAD design experience, including mechanical drawings and management of complex product assemblies
• Familiarity with CAE tools for stress/strain and impact analysis, plus knowledge of statistical tolerance analysis
• Experience with medical device design and requirements preferred
• Experience with machine automation preferred

$54/hr to $58/hr on W2

12-month contract, 100% onsite in Madison, WI
