The Opportunity

PAE is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to join our team in a hybrid office environment in Boston.

About the role

Bridging the gap between foundational design and project leadership, you will take ownership of mechanical system layouts for HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection. Working under the direction of a Lead Engineer, you will apply your technical expertise to perform complex load calculations, select equipment, and ensure all project deliverables meet our high standards for quality and precision.

What You'll Do

  • Perform Revit/AutoCAD system engineering
  • Design and plan mechanical system design and layouts under the direction of a lead engineer
  • Thoroughly understand mechanical distribution, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Energy Modeling
  • Prepare project deliverables with attention to detail
  • Read and understand plans and specifications, develop the skills to edit/write specifications
  • Develop the ability to understand other disciplines
  • Apply building codes, industry standards, and mechanical engineering design principles
  • Perform engineering calculations and equipment selection based on calculated load requirements
  • Understand and able to read plans and specifications, develop the skills to edit/write specifications
  • Develop the ability to understand other disciplines
