About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Airborne & Ground Optics Department in McKinney, Texas. This onsite role involves all aspects of the mechanical design process, from concept to model and drawing completion for mechanical components that support product builds. You will work under the general supervision of a team lead and may be required to assemble some of your designs. Collaboration with Chief Engineers, Lead Engineers, and product engineers is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize RTX tools, including CREO modeling software and Product Data Management (PDM).
  • Provide design and documentation support using engineering tools, Adobe, and the MS Office suite.
  • Execute the engineering change and drawing release process.
  • Perform analytical and technical engineering work within a program environment, with possible design presentations.
  • Undergo training on Raytheon processes and procedures.
  • Participate in building hardware in a lab environment as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance is mandatory (active and existing clearance required after day 1).
  • Experience with 3D modeling software (CREO, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Electromechanical design experience.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware assembly or machining.
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations (verbal and/or written).
  • Strong organization, coordination, planning, and teaming skills.
  • Highly motivated with a positive attitude and ability to work in a cross-discipline team.

Specific benefits depend on the business unit and whether the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Eligibility for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may also apply, depending on role level and collective-bargaining status. Payments are not guaranteed and depend on individual, business unit, and company performance.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $57,200 – $108,800 USD. The range is a good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Schedule

This is an onsite role. Employees in onsite roles work primarily at the assigned site, and commuting to and from the site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
