THE ROLE

  • Interprets the architectural design plans and researches appropriate HVAC and plumbing systems to fit the scope of the project.
  • Designs the heating, cooling, and plumbing systems to integrate and support the architectural building plan.
  • Leverages mechanical engineering principles such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science, and structural analysis principles within design work.
  • Understands different engineering disciplines within the project and how the mechanical engineering piece will/can impact different design elements.
  • Leverages engineering design software to draft plans, drawings, and models.
  • Incorporates the appropriate equipment to support the building's HVAC and plumbing needs.
  • Creatively finds ways to design engineering projects in challenging spaces.
  • Partners with the operations manager to develop new client business and win new project work.

YOUR STRENGTHS

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program
  • Minimum of 4+ years’ mechanical engineering experience with HVAC & plumbing design in a range of various building applications
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) professional licensure required
  • Professional Engineering (PE) licensure preferred or willing to obtain soon after hire
  • Proficiency with REVIT engineering design software
  • Project management experience leading tasks or projects
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems
  • Familiarity with basic plumbing and electrical systems
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record is required for periodic travel
