About the role

This role supports the design and development of electrical power systems for mission-critical data center applications. The engineer is responsible for creating and maintaining AC/DC power distribution designs, including system schematics, cable assemblies, and grounding strategies, while ensuring compliance with industry standards such as NEC, UL, IEEE, and NEBS. The position involves working cross-functionally with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver cost-effective, reliable solutions that meet project timelines. The role also includes troubleshooting technical issues, supporting system integration, and providing guidance to team members within a collaborative engineering environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with suppliers on product design and cost optimization
  • Support project timelines and cost targets
  • Communicate technical information clearly and effectively
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Provide technical guidance to team members
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical engineering issues
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
  • Design cable assemblies and harnesses; develop AC/DC system schematics
  • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Power Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 5–10 years in electrical product development for mission-critical systems
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC power distribution, including low-voltage three-phase systems
  • Experience with power systems, control, and metering
  • Solid grounding (earthing) design knowledge
  • Familiarity with Telcordia, UL, NEC, IEEE, and NEBS standards
  • Ability to solve moderately complex technical problems
  • Practical application of engineering principles in design and production
  • Proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical ability
  • Effective communication (written and verbal)
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines
  • Team-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented and dependable
  • Proactive with a strong sense of ownership
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications

  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Primarily desk-based role with standard physical activity (standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs)
  • Ability to differentiate colors required
  • Occasional domestic and/or international travel
