Mechanical Engineer, Central, Powertrain

What You'll Do

• Design automated material handling solutions to establish new and improved existing material flows throughout the facilities.
• Drive material flow strategies and dynamic manufacturing systems.
• Develop analytical models to establish design criteria and overall system performance criteria.
• Investigate and research advanced technologies to optimize material handling equipment and systems.
• Concept development, detailed engineering design, and collaboration with system build and integration.
• Develop RFQs, technical equipment specifications, procedures, and proper documentation.
• Manage projects from concept through completion, following all Tesla standards.

What You'll Bring

• Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years in manufacturing sector (automation line integrator, automotive OEM or Tier 1,2,3 supplier)
• Mechanical Designer, Project Engineer and Project Management experience
• Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD software, strong design experience understanding the mechanics and standards of automation equipment
• A solid engineering background with hands-on design and development experience
• A passion to work with automation equipment and design processes around it
• Ability to lead a project from concept through to installation and hand-over while working in a close-knit, team environment
• Knowledge of and experience with material flow strategies and dynamic manufacturing systems
• Strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability to manage several complex projects at the same time with high degrees of variation and uncertainty
• Controls experience is a plus
