Mechanical Engineer - Capital Projects

Position Overview

As the Mechanical Engineer of Capital Projects at DBMG, you will lead efforts in planning, executing, and overseeing capital expenditure projects related to steel fabrication and manufacturing. The role involves designing mechanical systems, managing automated machine installation project timelines and budgets, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, budgeting, and implementation of capital projects involving mechanical systems in steel fabrication plants.
• Identify and specify mechanical equipment and systems required for fabrication and erection processes.
• Analyze current operations and recommend changes to improve productivity, efficiency, safety, and quality.
• Design and oversee the building of custom mechanical solutions.
• Develop and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery and installation of mechanical components.
• Ensure all mechanical designs and installations comply with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with fabrication, erection, quality, and safety teams to align project goals and execution.
• Monitor project costs and schedules to ensure alignment with capital expenditure plans.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or steel fabrication industrial environment.
• Shop‑floor and/or job‑site experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, construction engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and project management tools.

Work Environment

• Up to 30% travel to various DBM Global offices and project sites as business needs require.
• May require occasional evenings and weekends; hours as needed to fulfill daily and weekly obligations.
