Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Create and refine 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
• Perform stress, thermal, vibration, and tolerance analyses for safety and performance.
• Develop prototypes, conduct testing, and implement iterative design improvements.
• Develop and execute test plans, analyze data, and monitor process capability.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues, optimize processes, and support tooling design.
• Generate technical documentation, BOMs, and specifications.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, quality, and production teams.
• Ensure designs meet safety and compliance standards (NIJ, ATF, DoD).
• Evaluate vendors and materials for manufacturing suitability.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks) and manufacturing principles.
• Knowledge of statistical process control, engineering calculations, and test data interpretation.
• Experience in manufacturing or product development environment.
• Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on experience with prototypes, test equipment, and tooling.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED

• Experience with energetic materials, pyrotechnics, or pressure systems.
• Background in defense, aerospace, or munitions manufacturing.
• Knowledge of ballistic testing, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience designing tooling or fixtures and familiarity with regulatory compliance.
• Project management training or experience.
