Mechanical Engineer.
About the role
Guides efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, and safety and security systems. Provides professional mechanical engineering expertise on operations and maintenance of mechanical equipment for multipurpose hydroelectric power facility. Serves as project crane operation specialist with competence in the structure, mechanical design, safety features, safety standards and maintenance for a wide variety of cranes. Interfaces with private sector contractors/vendors regarding equipment purchases, services and supplies.
Requirements
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a state issued driver’s license. This position has a heavy lifting requirement of 45lbs. This position requires up to 25% temporary duty (TDY) travel.
Qualifications
Who May Apply: US Citizens. In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs and other organizations.
- Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in engineering from a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)
- Combination of Education and Experience: College-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering
