Responsibilities

  • Aid in the development of project objectives, goals, and documentation policies.
  • Conduct engineering calculations and prepare detailed mechanical engineering drawings for HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection design.
  • Coordinate design between engineering disciplines and the architecture team, manage engineering calculations, and oversee drawings production.
  • Carry out energy analyses and apply high-performance design techniques.
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports and narratives.
  • Conduct on-site condition surveys.
  • Review contractor submittals and Request for Information (RFI) responses and provide field observations during the construction administration process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with mechanical design of HVAC and plumbing building systems on complex projects.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit software for Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software.
  • Knowledge of energy modeling and ability to develop associated reports/presentations using software such as IES VE, E-Quest, Ladybug Tools.
  • Professional Engineer license (PE) or passed FE Exam or EIT Registration.
  • LEED Accredited Professional and previous experience participating in the LEED or other green rating system process.
  • WELL Accredited Professional.
  • Experience and interest in sustainable and high-performance building design (energy, water, carbon, occupant health and wellness, resiliency).
  • A strong work ethic and solid organizational skills.
