Responsibilities
- Aid in the development of project objectives, goals, and documentation policies.
- Conduct engineering calculations and prepare detailed mechanical engineering drawings for HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection design.
- Coordinate design between engineering disciplines and the architecture team, manage engineering calculations, and oversee drawings production.
- Carry out energy analyses and apply high-performance design techniques.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports and narratives.
- Conduct on-site condition surveys.
- Review contractor submittals and Request for Information (RFI) responses and provide field observations during the construction administration process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with mechanical design of HVAC and plumbing building systems on complex projects.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit software for Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software.
- Knowledge of energy modeling and ability to develop associated reports/presentations using software such as IES VE, E-Quest, Ladybug Tools.
- Professional Engineer license (PE) or passed FE Exam or EIT Registration.
- LEED Accredited Professional and previous experience participating in the LEED or other green rating system process.
- WELL Accredited Professional.
- Experience and interest in sustainable and high-performance building design (energy, water, carbon, occupant health and wellness, resiliency).
- A strong work ethic and solid organizational skills.
