About the role
Independently owns and delivers moderately complex components or solutions, end-to-end. Applies sound engineering judgment and begins building technical specialization within the product domain. Troubleshoots and problem solves effectively, enhancing existing solutions, designs, or processes. Collaborates cross-functionally; contributes to estimation, planning, and project coordination in an Agile environment. Elevates team quality through constructive participation in design or technical reviews. Makes independent decisions within their domain that do not negatively affect scope, schedule, or quality.
Responsibilities
- Own design of components and small subassemblies end-to-end (concept → prototype → release), including interface definition within an established architecture.
- Independently generate robust CAD models and drawings, BOMs and tolerance schemes; drive drawing-to-release quality without heavy rework cycles.
- Select materials/processes and drive DFM refinements with manufacturing/suppliers.
- Plan and execute component-level test verification: fixture concepts, protocol input, test execution, and reporting.
- Lead assigned changes via ECR/ECO: define the change, impacts, and implementation steps; coordinate cross-functionally within scope.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering preferred.
- 3–7 years of applied professional experience preferred.
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree from an accredited institution.
