Mechanical Engineer
About the role
NDI Engineering Company is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support our team in Thorofare, NJ/Philadelphia. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in delivering complex design projects from concept to operational readiness, with expertise in systems integration, reliability engineering, and compliance with industry standards. The role focuses on safety, maintainability, and performance optimization while collaborating with Navy program offices, contractors, and technical staff to meet mission-critical objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead design projects from initial concept through detailed engineering, prototyping, and field validation, ensuring alignment with operational requirements and regulatory frameworks.
- Mentor junior engineers, driving innovation in HM&E solutions, and delivering projects on time and within scope.
- Create technical drawings and develop supporting technical documentation packages.
- Review technical data packages, mechanical test and quality data, and design, manufacturing-level, and system installation engineering drawings.
Skills
- Proficiency in CAE/D, SolidWorks, and Finite Element Analysis, as well as additional modeling and design process tools.
- Working knowledge of welding and piping, materials selection, and finishing processes.
- Understanding of acquisition and systems engineering.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Seven (7) years of professional experience.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering, specifically designing mechanical systems associated with US Navy HM&E Submarine Communication and Electromagnetic Systems.
