Mechanical Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join Mycronic's Global Technologies division within our Applied Plasma business line (Surfx Technologies). Surfx Technologies offers atmospheric argon plasmas for high-volume manufacturing of integrated circuits, semiconductor packages, printed circuit boards, and other microelectronic devices. These automated plasma machines are used for surface cleaning, activation, and metal oxide removal, ensuring assembled products are less likely to corrode, delaminate, or come unglued during their lifetime. Our customers include leading semiconductor manufacturers and technology companies.
This role is ideal for an enthusiastic individual ready to help bring innovative products from concept to production. You will work alongside experienced engineers to design, prototype, test, and optimize complex electromechanical systems in a dynamic hardware development and manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Communicate clear project status at every stage from PO entry to arrival at customer dock
- Design and create 3D CAD models and generate accurate 2D manufacturing drawings with dimensions, materials specifications, and geometric dimensioning
- Set up physical tests (thermal, structural) to ensure success under real-world conditions
- Build and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Execute Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to support continuous product improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 0 - 3 years of experience
- Skilled in communication across global time zones
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Working Conditions
The physical demands and working conditions include regular communication (talking/hearing), frequent use of hands or fingers to handle tools or controls, and occasional standing, walking, sitting, or reaching. The role requires close and distance vision with the ability to adjust focus. The work environment is a standard office setting with low to moderate noise levels, and significant computer work should be expected.
