MM Solutions is a well-established company serving the Aerospace, Medical, and High-Tech Industries in Colorado with high-touch custom packaging, professional services, and logistic solutions. Creating opportunities and overcoming challenges is what drives us to provide clients with the necessary people, services, and equipment for every job.
About the role
Mechanical design of switch matrices that route multiple radio frequency (RF) signals. Create 3D model layouts of the entire matrix and its components to support design for manufacturability (DFM). Design custom semi-rigid cables and sheet metal components, as well as selection of required hardware. Create assembly documentation for the integration of the switch matrix. Support integrators and technicians during integration and test.
Responsibilities
- Design the layout of switch matrices to support DFM principles and serviceability, including positioning and mechanical attachment of switches, amplifiers, couplers, mixers, control boards, power supplies, and front/rear panel connections, as well as selection of hardware and fasteners.
- Use standard chassis options where possible; design custom assemblies and unique mounting solutions.
- Create 3D CAD models from datasheets and actual RF components if models are not available.
- Create 3D CAD model of the entire switch matrix to facilitate custom part design and assembly documentation.
- Design sheet metal parts to support all internal components and connections, with familiarity of manufacturing processes in the sheet metal industry.
- Design semi-rigid cables to make connections between components and panel connections; design connections between system instruments if necessary.
- Work with suppliers to leverage current manufacturing processes and obtain custom components on schedule.
- Support integrators and technicians during integration to ensure manufacturability.
- Demonstrate and apply company values by working collaboratively with team members and customers to form partnerships and improve processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
