Required Skills
- Extensive experience with AutoCAD and 3D software such as Inventor or MicroStation
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards including OSHA, AISC, and ASME (Section VIII, B31.1, B31.3)
- Familiarity with structural steel welding and pressure vessel design
- Ability to apply advanced geometry and complex design concepts
- Strong verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills
- Self-motivated, analytical, quick learner, and problem solver
- Capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Team-oriented with adaptability to work in both metric and imperial measurement systems
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience in designing ducting, piping, and vessel layout drawings
- Familiarity with fabrication and erection drawings review
- Ability to evaluate constructability and propose process improvements
- Experience working with vendors and supporting site inspections
Preferred Education and Experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Computer-Aided Design and Drafting or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on design and drafting experience in structural steel, vessels, ducting, and piping within power, industrial, or petrochemical industries
Other Requirements
- Ability to travel approximately 10% for site visits and vendor inspections
- Prior experience collaborating with project managers, fabrication shops, and third parties
