About the role

We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Albany, NY who’s excited to tackle complex challenges and create solutions that keep our clients’ businesses running at their best. You will be accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, as you gain familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget and schedule. You’ll also provide on-site assistance during startup, coordinating work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead.

Your multi-discipline, highly interactive team will successfully deliver on the design, development, application, evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineered systems and products for building HVAC, cleanrooms, chilled and heating water, and process exhaust. Responsibilities

  • Deliver on the design, development, application, evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineered systems and products for building HVAC, cleanrooms, chilled and heating water, and process exhaust.
  • Ensure schedule and technical quality of engineering tasks while gaining familiarity with client expectations, scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Provide on-site assistance during startup, coordinating work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead.
  • Collaborate effectively in multi-disciplinary teams from preliminary design through site construction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 2 years of practical application of mechanical engineering design in building systems, such as HVAC, chilled and heating water systems, plumbing, and construction.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work onsite (hybrid) two days per week in Pittsburgh, PA.

Qualifications

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Revit or AutoCAD software; prior experience in Navisworks (preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Forward-thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas.
  • Passion for buildings and construction.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $69,500.00 to $95,500.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

Hybrid working policy, allowing employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations, with a requirement to work onsite two days per week in Pittsburgh, PA.
