About the Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our product R&D engineering group. In this role, you will work on diverse projects ranging from small mechanisms and test fixtures to complex full machine and system designs. You will handle multiple concurrent tasks, including customer research, design, build, test, reporting, and optimization, while adhering to design specifications and project schedules.

This position operates in a highly collaborative environment, requiring frequent interaction with multi-disciplined engineers, other departments, vendors, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electromechanical products, incorporating machine elements, structural components, kinematic principles, mechanisms, and electromechanical packaging.
• Apply design for cost and manufacturability principles to new and existing designs.
• Create and refine mechanical mechanisms and assemblies using CAD and FEA software (e.g., SolidWorks).
• Develop and manage GD&T, BOMs, mechanical drawings, and ECOs.
• Collaborate with marketing, manufacturing, and service teams to integrate their requirements into final designs.
• Incorporate customer feedback, requests, and pain points into new design concepts.
• Conduct design verification and testing, including setup, data acquisition, analysis, and documentation.
• Support product development with a basic understanding of related disciplines (electrical, firmware, software).
• Contribute to the product development and launch stage-gate process from concept through launch.

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 3-6 years of experience in the design and development of electromechanical products.
• Experience with machine design, including structural components, kinematic principles, and mechanisms.
• Proficiency in manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, casting, injection molding, 3D printing, finishing, material selection, fastening, and assembly operations.
• Strong attention to detail, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in team environments and collaborate across disciplines.

Skills

• SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD/FEA software).
• GD&T, BOMs, mechanical drawings, and ECOs.
• Design verification and testing, including data acquisition and analysis.
• Familiarity with the product development stage-gate process.

Pay

Starting salary range: $100,000 to $115,000 per year, determined by experience, skills, and qualifications.
