Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical design tasks, including:
- HVAC load calculations
- Verifying compliance with building code, energy codes, and various standards
- Design calculations
- Space planning and equipment layouts
- Ductwork and piping systems design
- Specification editing and review
- Visit project sites to gather design information and document existing conditions
- Cookordination with internal staff and external consultants to develop cohesive, technically sound solutions
- Perform Mechanical QA/QC reviews
- Provide construction support services: submittal/RFI reviews, site visits, punch lists, and progress checks
Essential Functions
- Sitting at a desk and working on a computer for prolonged periods
- Able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Occasional travel to various project sites for field investigation and construction inspection (20%)

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s Degree preferred)
- Minimum 8+ years of experience designing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly to both clients and teams
- Proven analytical and critical-thinking abilities to support design development and problem-solving
- Strong knowledge of design and coordination tools
- Understanding of applicable codes, building standards, and effective space planning strategies
- Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to contributing to a collaborative and inclusive studio culture
- Experience with Revit and AutoCAD
- Experience with HVAC load calculation software Trace 3D is a plus
