About the role
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. We are looking for mechanical engineers to design remote piloted aircraft, taking concepts from design to realized hardware in our in-house manufacturing facility and onto the aircraft itself.
Responsibilities
- Package design of airborne electronics.
- Ensure electronics survive in harsh environments and meet defined requirements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing to achieve high production yield rates.
- Use analysis to reduce risk before design testing.
- Present designs to peers, management, and stakeholders for feedback.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all laws, regulations, and obligations in company operations.
- Work safely in accordance with established procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
- Progressive engineering experience: twelve or more years with a bachelor’s degree, ten or more years with a master’s degree, or seven or more years with a PhD. Equivalent engineering experience may substitute for education.
- Thorough understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory, with broad application experience.
- Ability to develop and communicate new concepts, organize and schedule work, and determine solutions to complex problems.
- Strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, perform complex tasks, and lead moderately experienced professionals.
- Ability to work extended hours as required.
- Professional Engineering License and/or published work in professional engineering journals are desirable.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance is required.
Pay
Salary range: $116,480 – $208,505.
Schedule
Full-Time.
