Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Engineer role based in Greater Houston. The Mechanical Engineer will design and develop metal bellows, expansion joints, and exhaust systems using mechanical engineering principles and CAD tools. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and reviewing technical drawings, performing calculations and stress analyses, collaborating with manufacturing teams on product feasibility, and supporting R&D activities for new or improved designs. The role also involves coordinating project timelines, preparing engineering documentation, assisting in quality assurance reviews, and communicating with internal stakeholders to ensure projects meet performance, safety, and cost requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar degree
• Proficient with CAD modelling and drafting software - Autodesk Inventor or other 3D CAD software
• Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering with practical or academical experience applying engineering principles to product design and analysis
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Teams)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar degree
• Knowledge of industry standards including AWS D17.1/D17.2, ASME Section VIII, IX, and EJMA standard
• Working knowledge and experience with CAE tools – Abacus finite element analysis (FEA), tooling simulations, vibration analysis
• Practical knowledge of carbon steels, nickel-based stainless steels, and titanium
• Experience with design and analysis of fusion and resistance weld joints and specifications
• Proficiency in Machine Design for components such as bellows, joints, and exhaust systems, including material selection and CAE analysis
• Ability and willingness to take initiative, and work without direct supervision
• Should be able to work overtime when necessary to meet operation objectives
• Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
• Ability and willingness to work in range of environments to include but not limited to fabrication and manufacturing facilities
