Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for product designs of existing and future AssetWatch products. You will work on your own, and in conjunction with internal and external partners to develop mechanical product assemblies, fixtures, processes, and refinements to existing products. You will help ensure sound manufacturing methods, material selection, structural integrity, regulatory compliance, and documentation is satisfied on all products.

You will be responsible for component DFM/A and BOM detailing, drawings, instructions, and specifying OTS parts in coordination with the Supply Chain team. You will develop assemblies in SolidWorks using top-down best practices, build and test product prototypes, and help guide new products to production readiness.

This role is full-time, reports to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, and is part of a distributed remote team across the United States. We are open to candidates from most states if we can closely collaborate within core working hours.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical product assemblies, fixtures, processes, and refinements to existing products.
• Ensure sound manufacturing methods, material selection, structural integrity, regulatory compliance, and documentation.
• Perform component DFM/A and BOM detailing, drawings, instructions, and specify OTS parts.
• Develop assemblies in SolidWorks using top-down best practices.
• Build and test product prototypes.
• Guide new products to production readiness.
• Manage projects, maintain project schedules, and communicate progress toward objectives.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing and production methods including injection molding, machining, fixturing, tooling, and factory processes.
• Knowledge of manufacturing engineering from drawings and revision control to DFM/DFA, test, and tooling design.
• Hands-on experience building, breaking, and fixing real products.

Pay

The base salary range for this full-time position is $117,000—$140,000 USD, plus equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

This is a full-time, remote position with a distributed team across the United States and Ontario, Canada. Collaboration within core working hours is required.
