Mechanical Engineer
The Mechanical Engineer position at ARCO/Murray Engineering is based in Downers Grove, Illinois. This role involves guiding the mechanical and plumbing systems for a variety of building types, including Entertainment, Controlled Environment Agriculture, Industrial, Commercial, and Manufacturing facilities. The team collaborates closely with construction partners to deliver exceptional results.
About the Role
This is an opportunity to join an established but growing design/build business and contribute to the Mechanical Engineering Design Group. The team works closely with experienced Engineers and Project Managers who share a passion for delivering high-quality projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage the design process for mechanical and plumbing systems
- Guide and review the design from concept through to turnover and operation
- Apply knowledge of building codes, standards, and project requirements
- Use ASHRAE-approved calculation methods for load calculations
- Coordinate with design and construction teams to meet client criteria
- Generate permit and construction documents using 3D modeling software
- Assist in project pursuits and conceptual design
- Participate in construction reviews and address RFIs, submittals, and field challenges
- Contribute to the development of standards, procedures, and training programs
Requirements
- 2-5 years of mechanical and/or plumbing design experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field
- Experience using Revit and AutoCAD
- Knowledge of codes, standards, and design principles for mechanical and plumbing systems
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Comfortable with a fast-paced environment

Pay
The typical base compensation for the Senior Mechanical Engineer role is between $80,000 and $120,000. Discretionary bonus compensation is also available based on individual and company performance.
