An award-winning engineering services company is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing team in Hauppauge, NY (Onsite). This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex design challenges, working directly with clients, and contributing to a variety of innovative projects across multiple industries. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in mechanical design, machine design, SolidWorks, and ANSYS, along with the ability to take projects from concept through manufacturing. This position offers exposure to diverse engineering challenges while working in a collaborative, family-oriented environment that values both technical excellence and team culture. The role is a Contract to Hire position, with an anticipated application close date of Oct 12, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Design mechanical systems, assemblies, and machined components using SolidWorks.
- Create production-ready 3D models and detailed 2D drawings for manufacturing and assembly.
- Perform structural and thermal analysis using ANSYS or similar FEA software to validate and optimize designs.
- Apply sound machine design principles to improve product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, electrical, and controls engineering teams throughout project execution.
- Participate in design reviews and implement feedback to improve designs and processes.
- Support new product development efforts from concept through prototype and production.
