Mechanical / Electro-Mechanical Inspector
Responsibilities
- Incoming inspection from external providers of products or services/processing (e.g., nickel plating)
- FAI, PO, COC and process certification documents
- In-process and/or final inspection of critical features, including witness inspection (e.g., CMM program run)
- Compilation of final inspection sign-off sheet or inspection package
- Verification that the inspection equipment used to take measurements is capable of detecting defects
- Verification that the inspection methodology is adequate per drawing intent
- Review and validation of justification for any part not inspected at final inspection
- Assure products are free of gaps, mismatches, fairing, and of acceptable contour and waviness
- Assure products are of good workmanship and within specified workmanship standards (e.g., oil canning, riding conditions, loose fasteners, drill starts, scratches, dings, burrs, fastener edge distance, etc.)
- Verify all visible part finishes, paint, and skin quality are acceptable to the required visual standards
- Verify hardware cleanliness and absence of internal or external foreign object debris
- Verify safety wire has been applied in a negative pull orientation, the correct number of turns, and pigtails are tucked in according to specification requirements
- Verify fasteners are properly installed; assure the torque stripe is continuous from the head to the surface and of the correct color
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with electro-mechanical parts inspection
- Strong ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and industry/commodity standards
- Proficient in GD&T and validating dimensions (tolerances ≥.005”) using hand tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges)
- Excellent visual acuity to detect defects in complex products
- Willingness to undergo a background check
- ITAR compliance
Pay
The compensation range for this position is $30-$32 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule
This is a part-time or Full - time position. This is an opportunity in which you will be supporting the first shift.
