About the Role

The Level 2 Electro-Mechanical Inspector performs electrical and mechanical inspection of materials required for manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Read assembly and mechanical drawings to determine specific requirements.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical inspection of various items using a vision measuring system and hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, force gauges, etc., and electrical equipment such as an LCR meter and multimeter.
  • Inspect items including PC boards, switches, cores, connectors, resistors, chip capacitors, enclosures and covers, cables, amplifiers, machined parts, and packaging materials as per assembly drawings and specific criteria under supervision.
  • Perform visual inspection using a microscope and magnifying lamp.
  • Conduct simple tests such as resistance to solvents, DC continuity, and material composition using an XRF machine.
  • Identify and segregate defective units/materials.
  • Document inspection results in the computer.
  • Identify potential problems and notify the team leader as necessary.
  • Work in accordance with all company procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree with concentration in an electrical or mechanical engineering specialty required; Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field; must be familiar with electro-mechanical inspection.
  • Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.
  • Ability to use basic mechanical and electrical measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, multimeters, microscopes, and magnifying lamps.
  • Ability to read mechanical and assembly drawings.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Ability to distinguish colors in accordance with Ishihara Test for Color Blindness.

  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to operate a computer keyboard.
