About the role

This isn’t just a job, it’s a chance to lead innovation, engineer impact, and build a legacy of excellence. In the role of Mechanical EIT/Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

Responsibilities

  • Cook up mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects
  • Handle routine mechanical engineering assignments using standard techniques and procedures
  • Write and polish mechanical specifications, and pick mechanical systems and devices
  • Use engineering software to calculate HVAC loads, conduct energy analyses, and choose mechanical equipment
  • Create construction documents for HVAC and plumbing designs, including drawings, specifications, and reports
  • Work solo on small projects, or team up with more experienced engineers on bigger ones
  • Watch over work done by Mechanical CAD Technicians, and coordinate design of assigned projects with architects and other engineers
  • Inspect construction contracts, resolve conflicts, and oversee field inspections
  • Do other tasks as needed

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasis and Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate (candidates without EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression)
  • Healthcare, Science and Technology, and/or Civic facilities experience
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED (not required)
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm

Qualifications

  • Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, and equipment selection software)
