Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform various tasks assigned by Mechanical Engineers, Senior Engineers, and the Engineering Manager/Director.
- Aid in producing detailed schematics for HVAC systems based on instructions and pre-established guidelines.
- Assist Mechanical Engineers by participating in job site surveys to gather as-built technical information.
- Draft and develop layouts for mechanical systems based on direction from Mechanical Engineers.
- Convert field surveys into usable formats for plan and project development.
- Utilize AutoCAD to develop plans.
- Participate in the company's project improvement process by maintaining/improving CAD Detail Library and CAD Standards and actively seeking out new CAD Drafting technologies.
- Other duties may include copying/printing/scanning, assembly of equipment submittal packages, assistance in preparing work scope, and other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Achieve an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or complete a 1-year certificate program from a community college or technical school, focusing on CAD software, design fundamentals, and blueprint reading.
- Have 4+ years of CAD Drafting experience with formal AutoCAD/REVIT Drafting training/certification.
- Be capable of making autonomous decisions based on experience and project requirements and be able to manage multiple projects at any given time.
- Possess a working knowledge of Permitting submittal requirements in the Mechanical field.
- Be computer savvy, actively learning new software programs.
- Be proficient with AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and other related software applications.
- Show excellent verbal and written communication skills, and work and communicate with all departments within the Company.
- Have a reasonable understanding of HVAC Systems and Components (Hot Water, Chilled Water, Condensing Water, Chillers, Fans, Heat Pumps, etc.).
