ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop and rapid prototype “state of the art” mechanical components/packages/subsystems for RF coil development for MR systems
- Working knowledge of rapid prototyping processes, machining and injection molding processes
- Support design for reliability, manufacturability, serviceability and cost
- Evaluate and coordinate with external vendors to support and provide prototype, pre-production and ECO mechanical packages
- Prepare and review mechanical documents for product development and program release
- Work with RF coil development cross-functional teams including: management, program managers, electrical engineers, quality assurance, regulatory, manufacturing engineers, operations, sourcing, and document control
- Provide technical support to engineering team as needed
- Be a role model and lead by example
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field is required. One year of experience working in a professional environment or a minimum of two substantive professional internships, co-op or university lab experience. Electromechanical design experience is a plus.
- Skills and Abilities: Prefer experience in Medical Equipment Industry and RF coil development. Required: Knowledge of rapid prototyping processes as well as injection molding processes, Understanding of RF coil hardware and electro-mechanical design, Proficient with SolidWorks and AutoCAD, Basic understanding of FMEA, Demonstrated ability for design plastic and metal components, Ability to design, build and troubleshoot her/his own work, Proficient in MS Office software, Outlook and the Internet, Clear written and interpersonal communication skills, Quick learner with strong multi-tasking skills, Team player
- PREFERRED: FEA analysis expert knowledge using CosmosWorks or similar software, Industrial experience is plus, One or two prior years’ experience in medical device design is preferred, Understanding development process for medical devices is a plus, Understanding IEC testing for medical devices is a plus, Working knowledge and support of Quality Management System deliverables in a medical device environment
