Mechanical Designer II

Job Summary

Essential Responsibilities/Activities

• Uses computer design software (CAD) to develop models and drawings.
• Generates conceptual and preliminary drawings to be used for development of product.
• Tasks with updates and revisions to existing designs, as well as assists with new product design.
• Helps troubleshoot issues on the line.
• Keeps up with the processing of orders in house (SPAS).
• Handles multiple tasks simultaneously under guidance of other design engineers.
• Competent in independent work.
• Confers with engineering management to complete assigned projects.
• Collaborates with engineers, management, and other creative departments to determine design solutions.
• Provides complete bill of material by defining when, where, and why parts are used.

Essential Physical Functions

• Lift up to 50lbs.
• Sit or stand for up to 95 percent of work hours.
• Periodic visits to the manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.

Education And Experience Requirements

• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years in the HVAC industry or equivalent experience in a similar industry.
