Mechanical Designer
About the role
The project involves plant layout and equipment layout. Responsibilities include performing in-house mechanical design (life safety, HVAC systems, plumbing, piping, gas and fire sprinkler systems) for capital expansion projects and renovations of existing facilities. Everything is done in Plant3D and AutoCAD. Projects often involve pet food plants, chemicals, and sometimes food & beverage, agricultural, mineral processing, and power industries.
Responsibilities
- Design and layout of plant and equipment
- Process piping design, equipment selection, material lists, and contract document preparation
- Drawing reviews for industrial projects
- Create preliminary design documents such as conceptual designs, technical specifications, and site plans
Requirements
- Experience with Plant 3D and AutoCAD 2D
- Ability to execute plant layout design in Plant 3D
- Good organizational and prioritization skills
- Experience in design and mechanical engineering, particularly in MEP and plant layout design
- Experience in food & beverage, agricultural, mineral processing, and power industries
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with customers, contractors, fabricators, and vendors
Qualifications
- Intermediate level of experience in mechanical design and plant layout
- Ability to develop detailed design documents
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines

Benefits
Pay range: $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
