Mechanical Designer
Responsibilities
- Design heating-ventilation-cooling systems and plumbing systems.
- Perform load calculations, life cycle costing, and energy modeling.
- Design refrigeration systems for industrial and commercial buildings where food and other perishable goods are stored.
- Coverge with other disciplines and work in a team environment.
- Review installation of designed equipment/systems for compliance with construction documents.
- Manage multiple projects within established schedules.
- Prepare construction cost estimates, both in a broad and detailed scope.
- Aid in the development of contract specifications and research new procedures and/or products.
- Perform all work safely and responsibly, following the Health and Safety Plan.
- Act as a positive representative of the company and its core values.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Revit, mechanical design, MEP design, HVAC design, and refrigeration.
- 2+ years of Mechanical Design experience and refrigeration design.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and client relationship skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
Essential Skills

About the Role
The work environment is family-oriented with a small team of 10 employees in a bullpen-like office setting. There is an opportunity for hybrid work after demonstrating the ability to perform. Full-time benefits are very generous, and relocation packages are available for those moving to Lawrence.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lawrence, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
