Mechanical Design Engineer - Mid, Senior & Principal

Responsibilities

• Support projects ranging from major power plant modifications to smaller design initiatives, including cooling water systems (pumps, motors, control systems, piping, heat exchangers), valve replacements, equipment evaluations, and technical reports (e.g., corrosion studies).
• Deliver high-quality engineering documents: prepare accurate drawings, sketches, calculations, and analyses that meet industry codes, standards, and regulations.
• Adhere to client, ENERCON, and regulatory standards while following established procedures and project directives.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry codes, standards, safety culture principles, and advanced design techniques for the nuclear sector.
• Produce engineering deliverables that meet stringent quality assurance standards and exceed client expectations.
• Build lasting client relationships through clear communication, professionalism, and exceptional engineering solutions.
• Collaborate across disciplines to ensure integrated, comprehensive designs that address all stakeholder needs.
• Travel to plant sites for client interactions, on-site walkdowns, and evaluations of plant structures, systems, and components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 3 years of experience designing mechanical systems in power generation, nuclear power, or government (DOE) projects, either directly or with an engineering/design consulting firm.
• Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Due to federal contract requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.
