Mechanical Design Engineer II
About the role
Engage in a variety of engineering tasks, providing support on project plans for complex projects within our gas business unit. Collaborate with senior engineers, designers, and drafters to develop design packages for complex projects, contributing calculations, drawings, and documentation that meet project requirements and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Support project plans for complex projects within the gas business unit
- Develop design packages for complex projects, contributing calculations, drawings, and documentation
- Collaborate with senior engineers, designers, and drafters
- Ensure quality by reviewing your own work and participating in peer and QA/QC checks
- Work through design challenges, communicate impacts to scope, cost, schedule, and quality
- Build proficiency in CAD and engineering tools
- Occasionally support field activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum 1 year of work experience in the pipeline industry or a related engineering or consulting industry
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with gas facility work
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
Skills
Required skills include proficiency in CAD and engineering tools, ability to solve complex challenges, and strong communication and collaboration skills. Preferred skills include experience with gas facility work and Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
