Mechanical Design Engineer | Equipment & Product Dev
About the role
A growing Minnesota equipment manufacturer is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its team. The ideal candidate will enjoy understanding the entire machine and will work across the product development process.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical equipment and components
- Take projects from concept and calculations through design, testing and manufacturing
- Work with hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems
- Create prototypes and new products
- Troubleshoot manufacturing and field issues
- Create production-ready 3D models, drawings and documentation
- Work directly with manufacturing, suppliers and customers
- Help improve existing equipment and develop new ideas
Requirements
We're particularly interested in engineers who have designed machinery, equipment, vehicles, automation or other mechanical products and want to expand their knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems and complete-machine design. Experience with agricultural, mobile, off-highway or heavy equipment is helpful, but not required.
Qualifications
A B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or a related engineering discipline is preferred, along with approximately 2-10 years of engineering experience.
