Mechanical Design Engineer - Automated Equipment

About the role

Immediate position available for Mechanical Machine Designer for the design of various automated equipment & material handling systems.

Responsibilities

• Design special custom machinery and automated material handling systems utilizing 3D Solid modeling software - i.e., SOLIDWORKS.
• Detail and check drawings, develop machine layouts.
• Interact with customers and peers, assist in developing Concept Designs and Plant Layout drawings for RFQ proposals & Sales presentations.
• Analyze equipment designs and provide creative problem-solving solutions to manufacturing processes.
• Multi-task, work under pressure to keep projects on track, within cost budgets, meet scheduled completion deadlines, and customer commitments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in designing automated equipment & material handling systems.
• Proficient in developing conceptual ideas and making engineering presentations.
• Knowledgeable in industrial manufacturing processes and developing 3D simulations.
• Knowledgeable in electro-mechanical components and calculations (e.g., servo-drives, VFD, LVDT systems, etc.).
• Knowledgeable in hydraulic & pneumatic systems and calculations (e.g., cylinders, valves, switches, etc.).
• Knowledgeable in applications using robotics & vision systems.
• Knowledgeable in using Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with system controls (PLCs, HMI panels, switches, safety systems, etc.).
