Mechanical Design Engineer

Contract role based in Troy, MI – on-site, standard schedule.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive mechanical designs using advanced 3D CAD modeling tools, ensuring precision and functionality.
• Design various interior and exterior plastic and sheet metal parts using Catia V5/V6.
• Perform design engineering calculations to optimize system performance, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Review technical specifications and drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software such as CATIA V5 and V6.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the automotive industry.
• 3 years of experience with CATIA (Required).
• 3 years of experience with plastic design (Required).

Pay

$45.00 per hour ($94k annual equivalent).
