Mechanical Commissioning Engineer - Data Centers

About the role

This role involves overseeing the commissioning and quality assurance of data center infrastructure systems in mission-critical facilities. The engineer will coordinate installation, testing, and startup of electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with company standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage commissioning procedures (Levels 1-3)
• Oversee third-party CxA firms
• Develop test plans and prepare reports
• Conduct system testing such as HVAC, fire alarm, and power systems
• Communicate effectively with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders
• Participate in project meetings
• Support operational procedures and analyze facility performance
• Implement industry best practices

Requirements

• 4-10+ years of experience in Mechanical/HVAC systems
• Experience in data center projects (5 MW+)
• Commissioning expertise
• Relevant certifications (e.g., BCxP, CxA)
• Strong project management, documentation, and communication skills
• Knowledge of industry standards (ASHRAE)
• Familiarity with BIM tools and field testing equipment
