Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, Capacity Delivery
About the role
The Commissioning Team at Fluidstack is responsible for ensuring that gigawatt-scale data centers are commissioned and tested effectively. This involves mechanical systems such as chilled water plants, CDUs, liquid loops, and airside systems from Level 2 through Level 5. Key responsibilities include writing and executing test scripts to prove capacity, redundancy, and failure response, troubleshooting live systems under pressure, and feeding test findings back into the standard design process to improve future sites.
Responsibilities
- Commission mechanical plant on mission critical facilities through integrated systems testing
- Write and execute test procedures from sequences of operation, identifying and correcting errors
- Read P&IDs and controls drawings fluently to understand system complexities
- Troubleshoot live systems with vendors present and under a tight deadline
- Automate Level 4 and Level 5 commissioning processes
- Run functional and integrated systems tests with controls and electrical systems to ensure the building operates as a cohesive unit
- Feed test findings back into the standard design to speed up future site commissions
Requirements
- Experience commissioning mechanical plant on mission-critical facilities through integrated systems testing
- Ability to write and execute test procedures from sequences of operation, finding and fixing errors in those sequences
- Fluency in reading P&IDs and controls drawings
- Experience troubleshooting live systems under pressure and with vendors present
- Knowledge of liquid cooling and direct-to-chip systems
- CxA credential preferred
- Experience with modular data centers
- Experience with test and balance oversight
